Step into SUP Hut for Stand Up Paddle lessons in breathtaking landscapes, premium SUP rentals and expert guidance.

Ready for a unique Stand Up Paddle experience, in complete communion with nature, in a protected landscape? Welcome to SUP HUT.

You’ll find us at Praia do Lacém Ria (37°08’52.0″N 7°34’14.0″W), an untouched beach of rare beauty, secluded yet easily accessible, inside Ria Formosa Natural Park – it’s roughly halfway between Cabanas de Tavira and Cacela Velha, a route off-limits to motorized craft, where our SUP lessons take place.

Whether on Praia do Lacém or at a place to be agreed in the municipalities of Tavira or Vila Real de Santo António, we provide complete Stand Up Paddle rentals. Both our lessons and rentals feature premium construction SUP boards that are highly stable and available in different sizes.

SUP HUT is an accredited Stand Up Paddle school recognized by the Portuguese Surf Federation and Tourism of Portugal. Our instructors are certified surf coaches with specialized SUP training from the Portuguese Stand Up Paddleboarding Association.

Don´t just show up

Book your lesson at least 24 hours in advance so that we can check in advance the expected weather and tide conditions for the desired time.

Location may vary

Praia da Lacém is the default place of our classes and starting point of the route through Ria Formosa. But the conditions may lead us to choose another beach (view route page).

Keep your phone on

The licensed route is exceptional for SUP. But in water sports, conditions can always change and require last-minute adjustments.

Renting requires docs

Identity Card, Passport or Driving License and a proof of address/accommodation are required, in addition to signing the Liability Waiver.
